January is Mosaic Month at MJS

January means Mosaic Month here at MJS. In past years we have focused on language as a way to celebrate all the different cultures around the world and the many right here in our school community! This year, we are expanding our Mosaic Month focus to include Story, Song & Dance. The first week we were blessed to have a MJS grandparent, who also happens to be an international translator, introduce us to several Slavic languages, our own students joyfully singing “Las Mananitas,” Father Ambrose Udoji, who is an Associate Pastor at St. Philip the Apostle Church, sharing language and song from his native Nigeria, and a hilarious presentation of slang within the English language offered by our resident Brit, Kiwi and of course American faculty members. Mosaic Month continues through January 29 leading up to an International Fair on Friday, January 30. So much more to come!
