A Good Day for Good Work
Our MJS faculty and staff work hard every day but on Friday, January 16, instead of teaching, planning and guiding, the morning was spent sweeping, weeding, cooking, packing, sorting, raking, building and more! The annual Faculty Service Day allows the teachers and staff to go out and volunteer in the community; living out our motto 'Actions not Words,' just like our students.
Holy Child spirit was definitely present as groups helped out with yard work and cleaning at Mater Dolorosa, prepared paper flowers for an upcoming event at Dolores Mission, provided help sorting and stocking food donations at Friends in Deed, cleaned and cooked at Ronald McDonald House, and sorted and organized books for a new library at Our Lady of Guadalupe School.
Inspired by the students' commitment to Reach Out service projects throughout the year, everyone looks forward to this day. Each experience is embraced with enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit.
