• What is the age requirement for a Kindergarten applicant?

  We ask that all Kindergarten applicants be five years old by September 1 of the enrollment year.

• Do you have a sibling policy?

  Mayfield Junior School is a family school and we make every effort to keep families together.

• What if we are not Catholic?

  Mayfield Junior School welcomes applicants of all faiths and beliefs. Approximately 50% of our students are baptized Catholic.

• Are all students required to take religion as a class?

  Yes. Religion is a component of our curriculum across all grade levels.

• Where do the majority of Mayfield students live?

  Mayfield Junior School students live in a variety of communities primarily throughout the San Gabriel Valley and parts of Los Angeles and include; Pasadena, South Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre, the town of San Gabriel along with; Glendale, Burbank, Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Los Feliz, Toluca Lake, La Canada/Flintridge, San Marino, Arcadia, Alhambra and Monrovia.

• Do you offer after school care?

  Yes. MJS After School offers enrichment classes, homework clinics and supervised care from the end of the academic day to 6 p.m.

• Do you offer financial assistance?

  Yes. We are committed to providing opportunities for a Mayfield education to all students regardless of financial situation. Please refer to the section on tuition and financial aid for details.

• What secondary schools do graduates of Mayfield Junior School attend?

  During the seventh and eighth grade years a formal process and individual counseling are provided for successful secondary school placement. Our graduates are accepted to the finest secondary schools in the greater Pasadena/Los Angeles area and beyond.
