Presentations and Workshops from the 2024 Tools for Teachers

Early Math: Building Strong Foundations

What we know from research is that we are all hardwired with innate mathematical abilities from birth. Children can often be found sorting leaves in the yard, quantifying how much snack they ate, or just knowing the routine of the day.

In this workshop, you'll discover how early math skills lay the foundation for future academic success, enhance critical thinking, and promote problem solving. Come away feeling more confident in your own math abilities and with practical strategies to integrate math into your classroom seamlessly, making math fun and meaningful to young children.

Crisis Communication Planning

Prevention, preparedness and protection for peace of mind. The world creates unexpected situations, and living in Southern California, planning for the unexpected comes with the territory. This workshiop will explain why and how communication can help you respond to an emergency, and we will look at common elements of effective plans.

Mayfield has been working with Joffe for several years and their expertise in school based health and safety has proven to be of great value. Joffe's approach is positive, empowerment-focused which helps build deep, lasting safety knowledge. The takeaway will be ideas and strategies for a pro-active approach that you will be able to implement at your school.
Registration is $20.00 per participant. To keep costs budget-friendly, the maximum cost per school is $100.00 regardless of number attending.
